Project Neuro

Karina Ertel

Karina brings many years of experience in physiotherapy, massage therapy, aromatherapy, and holistic wellness. Her deep knowledge, compassionate approach, and dedication to client care make her an incredible addition to our team.

Karina qualified as a Physiotherapist in Poland, currently using these skills at Move4Ward four days a week… and will now be joining Project Neuro for a day! We couldn’t be more thrilled!

Initially working alongside Mollie, Karina will be undergoing her next level of qualifications in November – once completed she will then take on the role of Class Instructor and Personal Trainer to our incredible clients, new and existing.

Outside of work, Karina is a proud mum to 23-year-old Barnaba, a elderly Jack Russell, and two Egyptian Sphynx cats.

Our fourth member of the team… Ethel is a one-year-old French bulldog… with the biggest ears, sassiest personality and sweetest cuddles.

Ethel’s long-term role at Project Neuro is to become a Therapy Dog – to offer support and comfort to those who may feel uneasy in the centre. When she isn’t chasing the yoga balls, she brings a sense of calm and peace to the room.

She has been at the centre since day one, those who have met her, know she may be noisy at times but brings so much joy to our centre.

Keep up with her journey on Facebook and Instagram – Under Project Neuro

Personal Statement
I started my career off at 16 as an apprentice at Life and Sole Gym in Forres. From here I trained to become a Personal Trainer as well as taking classes for the gym. I have worked with some incredible people over the years – everyone from 5 to 95 and have loved every second of it. I still work at Life and Sole and am so grateful for the love, support and learning that it offers every day.

My first love of fitness was Strength and Conditioning. With this I have worked & specialised in Football – working alongside Forres Mechanics for a few years now.
A few years ago, I was then given the opportunity to do an advanced course – Exercise for Long Term Neurological Conditions. I have since then worked with people who live with MS, Parkinsons, TBI or Stroke. Alongside Jonny we have also worked with children who live with a Neurological Condition.

An interesting fact about me –
I love a good hike! One of my biggest achievements was completing the Kjeragbolten in Norway with my dad. Sorry Mum!! The thought of doing it now though makes me a bit queasy!!

Project Neuro LTD
I decided to create Project Neuro LTD after seeing how important exercise / movement can be for each condition. My aim was to give those living with these conditions a safe, comfortable, supportive environment – where we can use exercise to work on managing symptoms, improve quality of life and most importantly offer that social aspect too.
It has been 2 years in the making with its fair share of setbacks, however we got there! I am extremely grateful for the huge amount of love and support from family, friends, and even complete strangers.  We want this centre to be the first of many and cannot wait to open the doors to the people of Moray.
Look out for our ‘Open Day’ announcement coming soon – where you are invited to look round our centre, chat to our staff about how we can help YOU!
